Abstract Fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) is a cause of movement disorders and cognitive decline which has probably been underdiagnosed. especially if its prevalence proves similar to those of progressive supranuclear palsy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
